Winter camping at it’s finest! Join us at MK Brown for a weekend full of merit badges and fun!
New this year: Texas Hunter’s Education!! Scouts wanting to take Texas Hunter’s Education must pay an additional $15.00 fee and may NOT register for any merit badges. This is an ALL DAY COURSE!
Please see the Leader’s Guide below for more details. It is important that all units read the Leader’s Guide carefully before attending. To keep costs for OKPIK Winter Adventure as low as possible, we are asking that each unit contribute food to be cooked for each meal. Please bring enough of the listed materials to feed everyone in your unit, plus two! The food will be turned in to the kitchen during check-in!
The Scout Service Center will be closed for the President’s Day Holiday.
Scoutmaster Position Specific Training, Introduction to Outdoor Leadership Skills Training (ILST), Cub Scout Adventure Academy, and BALOO all in the same place, on the same weekend!
In an effort to reduce the number of weekends that our leaders and volunteers must commit throughout the year, we have consolidated these training classes into one weekend!
Please note that in order to receive full credit for this training, an overnight stay is required by BSA standards! Please pay attention to the weather forecast and plan accordingly.
Check-in and camp setup will begin at 2:00pm on Saturday and you will leave around 10:30am on Sunday. Dinner and breakfast will be provided!
Due to requests from many units across the Golden Spread Council, the annual Program Kickoff will now be held at each individual District’s May Roundtables instead of August 1 as indicated in the Council Calendar.
In addition, we will be providing an 18 month Calendar instead of the standard 12 month calendar as in the past.
This change will give all units the opportunity to plan earlier in the year and see an extended calendar.
This training course is for any Scouts BSA member (age 13 and above by class start date) and Venture Crew member. The instructors are experience youth from within the council under the watchful eye of adult volunteers who provide leadership and supervision.
You son or daughter will receive leadership training in a structured setting with fun built in. This is not a skills or Merit Badge course!
